-=- Budget way of shooting still life photography -=-

Quality strobes & backdrops used by professional photographers cost a lot. And often, amateur and non-professional photographers wouldn't be able to afford the high cost of these equipments. However, they should not be limited by it. Only a bad photographer will be limited by that.

Today, while I was trying to set up a website for my school's photography club, I faced problem looking for good & high quality picture of camera lenses, which I wanted to use for my banner. So I decided to take the picture.

The following picture is taken with a table lamp as the main light and fax paper as the backdrop.

Table lamps and torchlights are good lights that can be used for still life photography if you lack the professional strobes. If you find the lights too harsh, cover them with few sheets of tissue papers. Tissue papers can act as very good diffusers too! If you just need a frontal light, you can use your camera's built-in flash. Set the intensity, and use tissue paper as a diffuser if you need a softer light.

Good luck in your shoot!
